When situations arise that require someone to lead, I tend to take into consideration all the aspects that go into leading before I step up and lead. While I enjoy leading and would take every opportunity I could to lead, I reflect on the different factors that are involved in the situation and ensure that I can put everything I have into leading before I commit to any situation. Some of the factors that I consider are time commitments, the group of people I am leading, and the situation itself.
When I choose to lead it is because I am passionate about the setting in which I am leading, I am comfortable with the people who are leading with me, and I have time to give my best to leading. Leading is a difficult but rewarding task, and when I am able to help others by leading that is when I choose to lead.
"Leadership is communicating others' worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves."
- Stephen Covey
